International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - Farwell for outgoing 2019
In between holding on and letting go.... a new story unfolds
The Thanksgiving and Farewell to the outgoing batch of 2019-2021 was held on 5th June 2021 from 10.00 am to 11.30 am on Microsoft Teams. Aryan Gupta and Arjun Mahesh Guru of the outgoing batch were the emcees for the day. The function started by seeking blessings of the Almighty through the CJCIBDP prayer song. Class representative of the outgoing batch, Varad Patel welcomed the gathering. The Head of the school, Rev Fr Sebastian Mathai, addressed the outgoing batch and wished all students a bright future. He urged the students to uphold the profile of an IBian. Students expressed their gratitude to teachers through testimonies and conducted a game titled “scribble” which was based on their experiences in CJC IBDP. The gift to teachers made by Anushka, Radhika and Gaadha needs special appreciation. Video on “Memories” by Varad and Joshua of outgoing batch took the audience on a trip of nostalgia. The class representative, Mitali Arun, delivered the Valedictorian speech which was the culmination of their life in CJC IBDP. Students expressed their gratitude to the Head of school, Diploma Programme Coordinator, Home room Advisor, all teachers and non-teaching staff and their juniors. They reflected on the learner profile they have acquired and skills that they developed. Students proved that gratitude is the best attitude that one can possess. The thanksgiving by the outgoing batch was followed by farewell to them. Shruti from Batch 2020-2022 hosted the programme. The ever first Hall of fame of CJC IBDP, a video of messages from teachers and a gift from the teachers to the outgoing batch in the form of a personalised Bookmark added life to the programme and showcased teacher’s love and feelings towards the outgoing batch. The message to the outgoing batch by the home room advisor, Ms Aswathy Mary Joseph was followed by release of the IB tribunal- Memoire to Batch 2019-2021. The address by DPC, Ms Sheela Chacko, was followed by “My resolution as an IBian”. Ms Sheela Chacko stressed on the attitude towards failure and how important it is to have it gain the right perspective to succeed in life. Ms Aswathy M J pointed out the significance of choosing the right path and rendering service to society. The whole programme was planned, organised and conducted by a team of teachers Ms Anu Mathai, Ms Rachel Varghese and Ms Aswathy M J along with the first year students of the DP programme and the students of the outgoing batch. The whole programme was a time of reflection, fun and celebration by teachers and students of the last two years of life at CJC-IBDP.
