At one of the most renowned and respected project exhibitions- Indian Science and Engineering Fair ( INSEF), our students Shrinivasan  M, Nishanth K and V Ranjith  Kumar of II PCME H has won Gold medal for their project D-MAT- Be independent under the guidance of Ms.Priya and has been qualified for international level.

Cultural competitions

The PU board had conducted several cultural competitions at Chikkabalapur in BGS College on 5th December 2018. Reniby of Class 2 HEPP N and Kruti of Class 1 HEPP N participated in the essay writing and Bhavageethe singing competitions respectively and won, thereby qualifying from Division Level to State level. Hearty congratulations to them from Christ Junior College!

PU Board District Level Competition

PU Board had organized district level competition for 1st and 2nd PU students on 29th November 2018. Events were held in English and Kannada language. The events were Debate, Essay Writing, Pick and Speak, Drawing, Quiz, Bhavageethe, Janapada Geethe, Mono-Acting etc. Students of Christ Junior College took part actively in these competitions and won many prizes and the winners will be taking part in the divisional level competitions. We congratulate them on behalf of Christ Junior College.


The fourth edition of META Schools was organised from July 6th to 7th, 2018, conducted by The Department of English, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Bangalore. META, an annual festival of literature was held for high-school students. A total of 400 students from 20 schools across Bangalore participated in the fest. The senior category was won by Christ Junior College and the junior category by Innisfree House School. Quizzes, spelling competitions, writing events and paintings were the list of activities held.

PARVA 2018

RNS PU College celebrated its annual intercollegiate, cultural and sports fest 'Parva' on 31st August. It entices more than 3000 participants across Karnataka with its many enthralling competitions. Some of the competitions involved included English Debate, Shloka Recitation and Pro- Kabaddi.


The annual, inter-collegiate cultural fest of Jain College, Jayanagar was organised on the 8th of September. It is a mega event that attracts other colleges across the city. A number of activities and events were conducted in various areas. It provided the students with an opportunity to showcase their talent with a competitive attitude. The fest comprised of various on-stage and off-stage events. The enthusiastic students of various institutions and universities took part in this spectacular event and experienced the extravaganza. The students of Christ Junior College emerged as the overall winners.


One of the most awaited State level Intercollegiate Fest, "YuvaNova 2K18"- held by Surana College, was an added victory. With their theme being "Pauranic, Nothing's a myth", the students truly enjoyed the experience and exposure. The fest was organised on the 26th of September.


Esplendida 2018, also popularly known as 'The Queen Fest of Bangalore' was hosted on the 2nd and 3rd of November by Mount Carmel PU College. With the theme being 'Reveuse: Find more than what you seek', the fest saw the enthusiastic participation of students, with Christ placing in 38 out of the 49 events that were taken part in.


The second edition of Candentia was organised by the Bishop Cotton Girls’ School on the 9th and 10th of November. Candentia is a cultural fest honed to draw out the inner performer on stage and transform raw talent into a perfect symphony of skill. Aimed at bringing out the inner confidence, the fest involved events such as Market Mayhem, Mirrored Scribbles and Battle of the Bands.


Artemis, the annual intercollegiate fest organised by Jyoti Nivas College, was held on the 14th and 15th of November. All the events were greeted with immense enthusiasm. Christ Junior College participated and secured the overall trophy.

Christ College Residential, Kengeri, organised its annual fest 'CoLaSc' on the 11th of September. 'CoLaSc' stands for the commerce, language and science events the fest includes. Being the 50th year of Christ institutions, the fest was organised remarkably well. The students of CJC successfully brought home the trophy.

This year the theme of our annual saga of inter-collegiate competitions is 'Bengaluru: Involve to Evolve'.
Magnachrista is a cornucopia of cultural, literature, commerce and science events, offering a multitude of opportunities for individuals to emblazon their talents. It's assorted and extensive list of events showcase their capabilities and assists in their improvement.
Cosmos V7.0 the Intercollegiate Project Exhibit provides the perfect opportunity for all the innovative thinkers and aspiring scientists out there to come together and broaden their spectrums of knowledge on various concepts through a practical approach towards the same. The competition aims to create a platform for students to showcase their abilities and skill to engage in inquiry and reflect on innovation and creativity. 

Christites Innovative Talent Expo - XITE

Christites Innovative Talent Expo XITE! 2018 is the annual intra collegiate fest of Christ Junior College. This provides the opportunities for Christites to represent Christ Junior College at various intercollegiate fests.

XITE 2018 is an assortment of 34 events inclusive of  11 Literary, 10 Art and 13 Stage events. Also this year 31 classes of CJC battle it out to emerge as the most  “  XITED class  “

This bandwagon of events will help students to showcase their talent, enthusiasm and passion to empower their success both as an individual and as a class.

Harvard Model United Nations 2018

At the Harvard Model United Nations 2018 - the most prestigious conference for Model United Nations in South Asia – the 20 member student delegation from Christ Junior College bagged the overall Outstanding Large Delegate award along with numerous other laurels including 6 Best Delegate awards, 5 Outstanding Delegate awards, 1 Honourable mention and 4 Special Mention. For the continuous participation in the HMUN for the past 10 years, the Christ Junior College was felicitated by the HMUN India on the same occasion. The HMUN was held in Hyderabad from August 12-15, 2018.

Model United Nations

A Model United Nations (MUN) conference is a unique educational experience that combines knowledge of global affairs with skills that any future citizen will need: cognitive flexibility, critical thinking, complex problem-solving, people management, negotiation, judgement and decision making, and service-orientation.

Christ Junior College Model United Nations team is one of the most successful MUN teams in India. Year after year, it has made its mark at Harvard Model United Nations India Conference held at Hyderabad by Harvard International Relations Council. From 2011, when HMUN India had its inaugural session in Mumbai, it has won seven best delegates, twelve outstanding delegates, eleven Honorable Mentions and two Special Mentions at the conference. We were also the official Outstanding Large Delegation in two of these sessions. Apart from HMUN, we have won scores of Best Delegation awards in the Bangalore circuit.

It is a biennial event at Christ Junior College that showcases scientific innovations of students and their effort to have a dialogue with the community on solutions that they have to offer to address its needs.

In all its editions from 2005 onwards, there have been more than hundred exhibits from the students, some of which, after a  period of incubation and improvisation, has gone on to make their mark at different stages of international science project competitions.

COSMOS has also acted as a link between students and the scientific community of Bangalore; on and off, all major scientific organisations have shown its support to this endeavour by being part of this exposition, disseminating information on what they do and how our students could associate themselves with these organisations

 Robotics training is conducted annually for interested students of Christ Junior College which focuses on building autonomous robots using microcontrollers. The training session includes modules on basic anatomy of the robots, use of Arduino, an open-source physical computing platform, and controlling robots using computer keyboards etc. A hands-on session to design and develop robotic products using the kits provided is an integral part of the training programme.

Environment Day

Environment day occurs on the 5th of June every year and is the principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment.  ECO club at CJC empowers students to take part in activities to create awareness about the various environmental issues and do our best to protect our planet. It's a platform through which students can convey their ideas to the communities around and promote a well managed environmental behaviour. This year the students of ECO club celebrated World Environment Day in a very congenial manner. The theme for this year was 'BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION' with the aim of moving towards a plastic-free future.

Business Summit

Business Summit organised annually by Christ Junior College is an effort to make students aware of the intricacies of policymaking and the relationship between Government and Business Corporations. The summit is designed as an interaction between different states companies from various sectors through presentation and negotiation rounds.  This summit demands an extensive research on the geographical, economic and social aspects of the states and of the companies under different sectors such as organic food, automobile, tourism, hospitality, healthcare, textiles, infrastructure and renewable energy.

Social Action

Centre for Social Action (CSA), is a 'Students Movement for a Humane and Just Society’ at Christ University where student communities are sensitized on various issues affecting the poor and the marginalized sections of society. Established in 1999, CSA works towards promoting the value of Social Responsibility amongst the student community. With the support of volunteers, faculty and full-time development professionals, CSA is strongly engaged in addressing issues related to child rights, socio-economic development of women, youths and farmers, livelihood, community mobilization and environment and climate change issues. The CSA ancillary unit at Christ Junior College carries forward the yeoman service of its parent organisation.

Various clubs and associations of students were introduced in the curriculum over the years like Spectrum (Social Science Association), Science Forum and Colossus (Commerce Association), Pierian Spring (English Language Association), Prerana (Language Association), Prakruthi (The Eco club), Centre for Social Action (CSA), Sedes Minerva (The Quiz Club), National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Association of Christian Christites (ACC). Student Welfare Office (SWO) was developed to coordinate the intra-college and inter-college cultural activities.

In order to cater to the sound mental and physical health, we have introduced sports activities like volleyball, football, cricket, basketball, throw ball, badminton, table tennis and athletics. Along with tapping the intellectual ability of the students, the institution provides ample opportunities and training facilities to its budding sportspersons. Our annual sports meet has students' march past as its unique feature. MAGNASPORT, our intercollegiate sports meet was introduced in 2002 and is conducted annually. Our students have participated at district, state and national level sports meet and continue to bring laurels to the institution.

Skill development

Christ Junior College offers students with avenues for inter and intrapersonal skills development. Group Discussion training, Current Affairs sessions, Youth Empowerment programmes and Theatre workshops are some of the programmes that are made available to the students to hone their skills.

Transcendence 2018, the science and technology fest conducted by St Joseph’s Boys’ High School on the 29th and 30th of June 2018, saw the active participation of our young budding scientists and analytical thinkers.  From challenging events like Zenith, QRiosity, Robotics, Qwhiz, Elixir, Boardroom and many more that tested the participants’ all-round science knowledge besides their ability to think miles outside the box. Our students did us immensely proud throughout both the days of the fest by tackling each task one step at a time. The fest proved to be a wonderful learning experience and a whole lot of fun!

With CJC bagging the overall trophy, we kickstarted the year on a highly successful and winning note!


Association of Christian Christites (ACC)

Write The inauguration of the Association of Christian Christites (ACC) for the academic year 2018-2019 was held on 23 June 2018. The chief dignitary of the day was Fr.Cyriac Madathil CMI who served as the CMI coordinator of USA and Canada, then was the Principal of Christ College, Pune. The other dignitaries present were Fr. Sebastian Mathai, our Principal, Mr Jerin Jose, Ms Ashika Alex and Ms Sandra Simon, coordinators of ACC.

This year's theme "Metonia" meaning 'to change one's way of life' was made official. The ceremony commenced with a prayer dance by the ACC dance team. This was then followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

The coordinator of ACC, Mr Jerin Jose, welcomed the gathering with genial words of welcome. This was followed by Fr. Cyriac Madathil addressing the students on being assertive. His words were stirring and sublime.

Student Welfare Office

The objective of the office is to work for the welfare of the student community.

It provides a common platform for the students to exhibit their talents, skills and exchange ideas with the like-minded people. The SWO is involved in hosting a gamut of activities throughout the academic year.

Under the aegis of SWO, both I and II PU classes participate in a cultural performance that showcases students' talents. It also stands as a podium for the exchange of culture of different states. XITE, the intra-collegiate fest and Magnachrista, the intercollegiate fest is an annual event that hosts many an activity that brings out the students' best. The annual prize distribution, Applause is an event that recognizes excellence in academics and co-curricular activities in the form of cash prizes and trophies. The College Day, a day to be cherished by every student is a cultural extravaganza. The Graduation Day, the culmination of the academic life of students is a much-awaited event as the hard work pays fruitful results as the students hold the certificate.

Student Development Office

The Student Development Office at Christ Junior College coordinates all the activities of clubs and associations, organizes training programmes for participation in prestigious international and national level competitions.

Competitions include Harvard Model United Nation India and Debating Matters India. It also conducts a few major events like the class party for outgoing second PUC students and is in charge of the International Gateway Programmes of the college.

Student Development Office is in charge of three international gateway programmes - Indo-Swiss Exchange Programme, Indo-German Student Exchange Programme and Indo-Sweden  Exchange Programme. The major focus of the study is Singapore’s success story as a nation – be it their civil administration, infrastructure, economy or the ‘livability’. The Indo-German Student Exchange Programme is being organized in collaboration with St. Anna Secondary School, Munich. This year the participants are studying the impact of carbon footprints in their day to day activities.
